I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
